Maybe more like 100 miles. :-( They're not building pet rocks in there.

BBC and DW reported Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor stated last Saturday their intention to have 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2020 and 6 million by 2030. Apart from appealing to the Green party, this will position Germany to remain a major manufacturer of cars.

Farmeer is correct. There is a note at the end of the article correcting the range to 100 miles or 160 km. The car appears to be about the same size as a Mini with four seats. If they can sell it for $35,000 it will be a winner. It will be made mostly of Carbon fibre. Great news for those of us who live in places where winter road salt destroys car bodies very quickly. Top speed is also listed as 100 MPH so it ain't a golf cart. Lastly a range extended version is also contemplated. The range extender also solves the winter heat problems. Think noble thoughts. |
