The advantages of ICE used as generator as opposed to ICE used as propulsion should be obvious.

we can theorized by looking at non-hybrid ICE cars that show tremendous fuel economy. if we were to move that ICE to generator and put Electric motor for sole propulsion, this eliminates the taxing of the economy caused by irregular throttling and torque. by keeping ICE at optimum RPM and Torque, we can get regular or steady fuel consumption.

so if ICE powered generator can operate at a consumption rate of 1 Gal/hr under full load, we can theoretically get 60 miles/gal at steady freeway speeds. add in Regen and battery power with generator cycling battery and powering drive motor simultaneously, we can use Battery power half the time to double range.

these Series Hybrids should get Over 100 Miles/gal. I think GM has completely over engineered the Volt. added weight were it isnt needed i.e. their proprietary trans and too heavy ICE/Generator. effectively demolishing theoretical economy.

I agree. For the foreseeable future hybrids will win out. I think this will help the move to pure EV. The technology will mature in Hybrids and eventually pure EV will be the accepted next step. 10 years till sales of hybrids/EVs are higher than ICE sales(15 years for trucks) IMHO.

Oil prices are the driver of this equation.

done.

The movie "machine gun preacher" shows graphically some of the horrors this scourge has perpetrated. Too bad no one has taken this madman out yet.

A bounty might be more efficient.IMHO 20 top level mercs could track and eliminate this clown. Or one drone strike if any state cared enough

Is there any stock play here? Envia is not listed is it?
Are there any stakeholders small enough to play?
This seems like a good interim company to fill the need till something better comes along(Lithium/air,cathode competitors,EEstor,LENR/LANR etc. etc.)

How much lithium does it use?

It bears watching for sure...

Bill Maher Feb 3 ,2012 wrote:

New Rule: Until someone claims to see Christopher Hitchens' face in a tree stump, idiots must stop claiming that atheism is a religion.

There's one little difference. Religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a super-human, controlling power. And atheism is… precisely not that.

Got it? Atheism is a religion like abstinence is a sex position.

Now…believe it or not, I don't really enjoy talking about religion all the time. In fact, not only is atheism not a religion, it's not even my hobby. And that's the best thing about being an atheist. It requires so little of your time.

But, there is a growing trend in this country that needs to be called out. And that is to label any evidence-based belief a religion. Many conservatives now say that belief in manmade climate change is a religion, and Darwinism is a religion. And of course, atheism, the total lack of religion, is somehow a religion, too, according to the always reliable "Encyclopedia Moronica."

Now, it's a dodge, of course, straight out of the grand intellectual tradition of "I know you are, but what am I?"

It's a way of saying, "Hey, we all believe in some sort of faith-based malarkey, so let's call it a push."

No. No, no, no, no. no. It's not fair that people who can't defend their own nonsense get to create a fake, fair-and-balanced argument, the way they do in asserting that evolution and creationism are equally valid.

I'm not saying that atheists are perfect thinkers. Everyone has blind spots. I'm sure there are atheists who think ponytails look good on a man. And pineapple belongs on a pizza. And Ayn Rand was an important thinker. But, when it comes to religion, we're not two sides of the same coin. And you don't get to put your un-reason up on the same shelf with my reason.

Your stuff has to go over there on the shelf with Zeus and Thor and the Kraken. With the stuff that is not evidence-based, stuff that religious people never change their mind about, no matter what happens. That's not atheism.

I'm open to anything for which there's evidence. Show me a god and I will believe in him. If Jesus Christ comes down from the sky during the halftime show of this Sunday's Super Bowl and turns all the nachos into loaves and fishes, well, I'll think two things. First, how dare he interrupt Madonna; she is going to be pissed!

And two, oh, look at that, I was wrong; there he is. My bad. Praise the Lord.

But, that's not going to happen. And, short of that, if you still insist atheism is a religion, then it's only fair that we get to do all the loony stuff that you get to do.

And I'm going to start tonight by un-baptizing Mitt Romney's dead father-in-law. [slide shown of Edward Davies] Yes, in case you didn't hear, it was discovered last week that Edward Davies, Ann Romney's father, an enthusiastically anti-religious scientist who called organized faith "hogwash," was posthumously baptized in the Mormon tradition, 14 months after he died. They tried to do it sooner, but he wouldn't stop spinning in his grave.

So, here then, is history's first un-baptism ceremony right now. [he produces framed photo of Edward Davies] [he puts on wizard’s hat and produces a wand and candle] For the late Edward Davies.

[Lights go out, church music heard] Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of math, gravity, evolution and electricity…to honor Brother Edward, and to send the powers of SEAL Team 666 to rescue him from Planet Kolob so that he may spend eternity with the kind of free-thinkers he chose to hang out with on earth.

So, by the power granted to me by the Blair Witch. Schlemiel, Schlimazel, e pluribus mumbo-jumbo! Expecto-Petronum, Sussudio, Yo Mama…I call upon the Mormon spirits to leave your body the f**k alone!

Brother Edward, in this world, you had to put up with Mitt Romney. You've suffered enough!

Un baptism ceremony video

ROFL thanks Fibb!

don't put fantasy on the same shelf as fact makes sense to me.

Why do we care what we call them?

There is no value in the names.

If they don't get to keep them it's just more bad press.
They have not shown any real sensitivity to what we think anyway.

We make a bigger deal out of it here, than they seem to there lol.

Besides, then we get to waste some more time thinking up new better names while we wait for the inevitable end to the story.

Sorry bud but you guys started all that and we were forced to follow suit.

I agree the guvment is going too far some times both here and there.

Kneejerk reactions have led to stupid laws and ridiculous losses of privacy...

Hopefully this year we will have a webcast of the AGM for those who can't go.

Sean was a convincing ladies man spy. Daniel Craig is a convincing ass-kicker spec ops kinda spy. Sean had the calm of a spy, Daniel has the physic to make it look right.

When Connery was younger, he had the physique of all the Bond actors thus far, including Daniel Craig- Connery was a large, powerful man's man. the excerpt from Wikipedia below details on his physical prowess, which in my opinion is what sets him apart- a lady's man in one instant, a hard, powerful assailant then next:

"Connery began bodybuilding at the age of 18 and from 1951 time trained heavily with Ellington, a former gym instructor in the British army.[21] While his official website claims he was third in the 1950 Mr. Universe contest, most sources place him in the 1953 competition, either third in the Junior class[22] or failing to place in the Tall Man classification.[23] One of the other competitors mentioned that auditions were being held for a production of South Pacific;[22] and Connery landed a small part. While in Edinburgh, Connery was targeted by the notorious Valdor gang, one of the most ruthless gangs in the city. He was first approached by them in a billiard hall on Lothian Street where he prevented them from stealing from his jacket and was later followed by six gang members to a 15 ft high balcony at the Palais.[24] There Connery launched an attack single-handedly against the gang members, grabbing one by the throat and another by a biceps and cracked their heads together. From then on he was treated with great respect by the gang and gained a reputation as a "hard man".[25]

Connery was a keen footballer, having played for Bonnyrigg Rose in his younger days. He was offered a trial with East Fife. While on tour with South Pacific, Connery played in a football match against a local team that Matt Busby, manager of Manchester United, happened to be scouting. According to reports, Busby was impressed with his physical prowess and offered Connery a contract worth £25 a week immediately after the game. Connery admits that he was tempted to accept, but he recalls, "I realised that a top-class footballer could be over the hill by the age of 30, and I was already 23. I decided to become an actor and it turned out to be one of my more intelligent moves."

True enough I was leaning towards Sean as well. He reminds me of Steven Segal a bit, large calm and competent.

The really scary people I have met all have that calmness about them. And I've met some really scary people....

So yeah Sean wins.

This whole global warming thing is overblown I think. The pollution we create is not just CO2. Getting warmer is less of a problem now than plain old pollution.

Check the lifespans of people like traffic cops in Beijing. Pollution in all it's variety of toxins is already having an effect.

CO2 is just one of a porridge of poisons/gases we breathe(a natural one). The alarm bells are already sounding loudly in many places around the world. Smog days so bad elderly drop dead.

So who gives a damn about CO2? we need to worry about all the rest and the fixes look just like the ones for AGW.

My point is AGW or no AGW we need to cut our emissions period.

Arguing about AGW is just wasting time better spent fighting against all forms of POLLUTION!!!

Except one big problem with this - CO2 is not a pollutant. It is an essential gas for survival, no CO2, no plant life. We produce CO2 it is a non toxic gas that plants use as food. Why do people keep saying pollution???

technically correct, and I don't see it as the main problem.
It is just one of a cocktail of natural and man-made smog ingredients. Lets call them smog components instead of pollution if that helps. CO2 is not technically a pollutant except when it exceeds the natural range (which we are still in). The other components of smog are better suited to the name pollutants.
