Tec,

It gets WAY worse! Even for the Nissan there are UNREASONABLE demands to maintain the battery's warranty:

Just read these ridiculous clauses. MOST ridiculous of all:

Additionally, Nissan warns against “Charging the Li-ion battery full on a daily basis, despite the battery keeping a high state of charge level (98-100%).”

2011 NIssan Leaf Battery Warranty Information
In other words, it advises against charging your Leaf to full when the battery state of charge is already above the 80 percent full mark, or in fact regularly letting your leaf to enter its automatic charge cycle when the battery state of charge is above 80 percent. [WTF IS THIS BS?]

Q: What about other electric cars? Will the battery pack of a Nissan Leaf 'brick' as well?

A: Not according to Nissan. The company sent a statement, saying:

The Nissan LEAF battery pack will never discharge completely, thanks to an advanced battery management system designed to protect the battery from damage. One element of the battery management system is a failsafe wall that stops the battery from reaching zero state-of-charge, even after a period of unplugged storage.

Globally, there are more than 22,000 LEAFs on the road that have driven more than 30 million miles, without any incidents.

The COMPLETE and HORRIBLE story is here.

Due to Tesla batteries naturally decaying over time, Tesla offered Roadster customers a $12,000 "battery replacement program". This program is intended to replace a Roadster battery with a new one seven years after purchase. When asked, the Tesla service manager said even if owners had paid in advance for this replacement battery program, they would not be allowed to use it to replace an accidentally discharged battery - they would have to pay the full $40,000-plus cost.[3]

The Santa Barbara owner was also informed that no other financing or payment plan would be made available to pay for the replacement battery, and that he needed to either pay in full or remove his dead vehicle from the Tesla service center as soon as possible.

This situation is TOTALLY unacceptable ! I will NEVER buy a Tesla ( or any other electric ) unless this problems is fixed.

e'er,

Sorry, but the RDA of 150 mcg iodine in your multi-vitamin is a joke. Not even 10% of what you really need for good health.

Prove this to yourself by taking this simple skin test using Lugols 5% Iodine from Amazon.Com.
http://www.utopiasilver.com/iodinetranscript.htm

Unless you eat seaweed 3 times a week, or take iodine supplements, I guarantee that you are severely deficient.

Zawy,

The correct amount of Vitamin D3 for each individual is different.

The only way to know for certain is with a blood test. 10,000 IU dauly is perfect for me, because my blood test came in at 73 ng/ml. My wife's test was 66 ng/ml from 10,000 IU.

Our son comes in perfect at 5,000 IU daily. The range you want to see is 70 to 100 ng/ml in your blood test.

THIS IS FAR TOO IMPORTANT TO GUESS ! Your immune system requires vitamin D3.
http://www.naturalnews.com/z028357_vitamin_D_de...
At home blood test is only $65 and $50 at your nearest Lab Corp.

Prior to taking Vitamin D3, I used to suffer a TERRIBLE chest cold every winter that would last for many weeks. Sometimes so bad that I even lost my voice. Since taking D3, no more colds of any kind. The worst I get now is sniffles for a few days. Optimum vitamin D3 for your body is a cure for the common cold, and better than a flu shot.

Vitamin D3 deficiency leads to more than a nasty cold:
Neurologist Dr. Kruse says,DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH LOW VITAMIN D LEVELS: (below 30 ng/ml on a Vitamin D 25 (OH) test

•Rickets and osteomalacia and psoriasis
•Hypocalcemia
•Seizures, muscle tetanus and heart failure in the newly born
•Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
•Cancer of all types
•Heart disease (the number killer of men and women)
•High blood pressure development
•Obesity from all causes
•Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis
•Mental illness of all types
•Chronic pain centrally or peripherally mediated.
•Muscular weakness
•Radiation poisoning
•Diabetes…..especially metabolic syndrome and T2D development
•Multiple sclerosis and most autoimmune diseases
http://jackkruse.com/the-sunshine-of-your-life/...

So yes, this is far too important to play guessing games, Each 1,000 IU change in dosage alters the blood test reading by 10 ng/ml....

Grizz, thanks for the advice and I appreciate it.

I have significantly reduced my carb intake (including wheat products). I have high blood sugar and I am convinced any amount of high process carbs is bad for anyone since it causes spikes in blood sugar.

I take 2000 IU of Vitamin D daily.

Gonna look into this iodine stuff now. I know that multivitamins contain iodine so I think I may be getting enough.

jimbobway,
Multi-Vitamins do contain iodine, but only 150 mcg. You need 10+ times more than that for good health. Every cell in your body requires iodine, especially the brain, prostate & thyroid. Do your Iodine Skin Patch Test to see how deficient you are.

Iodine Patch Test
I’m now going to demonstrate how you can test yourself for whether you have enough iodine in your body or not, it’s called the “iodine patch test” … you simply take a bottle of Lugol’s 5% iodine,[Amazon.Com] or another form of iodine, put some of it on your skin … let it absorb into your skin … in the area of about one-inch square is sufficient, of course, we let it dry, we can see the reddish-brown color of the iodine.

How to interpret the results of the test are: if all of this color is absorbed through your skin into the body in less then eight hours, you have a very severe deficiency of iodine in your body; eight to sixteen hours, you have a moderate deficiency; sixteen to twenty-four hours, you have a slight to moderate deficiency. Only if it takes twenty-four hours or more for this to slowly fade away, does it indicate that you have enough iodine in your body, …which, according to Dr. Guy Abraham, is 1500 milligrams total quantity of iodine in a full-saturated iodine patient.

This is a simple way, and although it is easy to do, it apparently correlates very well with the much more scientific, medical, and technical way of testing for iodine, which is to take a loading dose and check a 24-hour urine [sample] to see how much of it you’ve dumped out of your body, …the rest of it, presumably, having been absorbed into your tissues. This is an easy way … you can do this test every one to two weeks, as you’re trying to do your loading on the Lugol’s iodine, as outlined by Dr. Guy Abraham, M.D..
http://www.utopiasilver.com/iodinetranscript.htm

My 1st skin test, the stain was GONE in 3 minutes ! ! ! That is unbelievably deficient. Now 4 weeks into iodine supplements & it takes 3 hours for the stain to disappear. In the meantime, I went from 1mg (3 weeks) to 2 mg 1 week to 12 mg iodoral from Amazon.Com. 12 mg is the recommended dosage by Dr. Brownstein. I plan to stay at this dosage until my skin test passes the 24 hour mark, then cut back to 1 mg/day.

The other HUGE problem is that chemicals in our food & drinking water zap iodine from our bodies:Chemical halogens (class of chemicals to which iodine belongs) fluoride, bromine and bromides, and chlorine. Bromine is everywhere in bread, pesticides, makeup, hair coloring. So the pitiful 150 mcg in a multi-vitamin pill has zero chance of providing adequate iodine.

Judging from the impact on my life so far, iodine is a miracle supplement. Curing my insomnia and correcting my Prostate are HUGE. It feels great to once again piss like a Race Horse from the start-stop dribbling stream 4 weeks ago!

PS) Wheat does have a terrible impact on our health. See this site by Cardiologist Dr. Davis:
http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/
His book is AMAZING, and should be read by everyone in your family.

PSS) 2,000 IU Daily is not nearly enough Vitamin D3. Do your 25(oh)D blood test and it should read between 70 & 100 ng/ml. For most folks, this requires 10,000+ IU daily. At home blood test $65 or at your nearest Lab Corp for $50.

God knows whether you swallow it, rub it in, or make it up as an enema, but one of them HAS to do the trick.
Worth a try?

No. Not related to the prostate. The prostate is one of the organs that requires a lot of iodine, 2nd only to the thyroid. In women, the breasts and ovaries require a lot of iodine. Iodine deficiency eventually leads to fibrous tissue or cancer in these organs. Our brains also require iodine to function. Iodine is why I suddenly started remembering my dreams and my insomnia was cured. I also felt like a brain fog had lifted.

Dr. Davis on iodine:

Iodine is not optional; it is necessary for health, including breast health, oral/gastrointestinal health, and the health of a developing fetus. The RDA for non-lactating adults is 150 mcg per day, the quantity required to not have a goiter, but not necessarily ideal thyroid health. I’ve therefore been advising 500-1000 mcg per day from an iodine supplement, such as kelp tablets (dried seaweed), available at health food stores (not pharmacies). The only adverse effects of iodine arise in people who have inflammatory thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, unsuspected thyroid nodules, or longstanding and severe iodine deficiency.
http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/2011/10/thyroid-t...

Old men get prostate cancer & old women get breast cancer? NO LONGER TRUE if everyone gets adequate iodine. Dr. Kruse, my other hero, recommends 3 servings of seaweed a week or daily iodine supplements.

The so-called Japanese dose of 12.5 to 13 MILLIgrams a day of one of the iodine forms (Potasssium Iodide, Iodine/Potassium Iodide or Potassium Iodate)[called iodora from Amazon.com] is probably where you want to be for most nutritional requirements. It is very safe and considered optimal based on the good health of the Japanese who get around this amount on a daily basis. Keep in mind most forms of iodine contain some non-iodine material (Potassium, Oxygen). According to Dr. Michael B. Schacter of the Schacter Center for Complementary Medicine, in iodine deficiency states it can take up to a year to become sufficient in iodine using this dose.
http://pharmacistben.com/home/18-clearing-up-th...

Iodine Deficiency leads to hypothyroidism. Some of the symptoms include:
* Fatigue
* Depression
* Modest weight gain
* Cold intolerance
* Excessive sleepiness
* Dry, coarse hair
* Constipation
* Dry skin
* Muscle cramps
* Increased cholesterol levels
* Decreased concentration [brain fog]
* Vague aches and pains
* Swelling of the legs

Later stages
* puffiness around the eyes
* slowing of the heart rate
* drop in body temperature even heart failure
In its most profound form, severe hypothyroidism may lead to a life-threatening coma.

I will keep this short & to the point. Since nearly everyone on this board are Manly Men, this subject is vital to our prostate health.

Forget about drugs, Saw Palmetto, expensive tablets. The solution for prostate problems is too simple. The same solution prevents prostate Cancer. This is all well documented by doctors on the internet if you do the right Google Search, "Iodine Prostate."

Complete details here:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread4520...

Be sure to read the complete links from Dr. Kruse and Dr. Davis for their cautions.

Best of health to all,

You can do the same thing with a small pack of 4-Lithium cylindrical batteries attached to your car battery. The lithium supplies enough power to start your car and extends the life of your lead acid battery.

Edit:
See this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcvmvrmTMMk
Except leave the lithium cells installed permanently.
